Nestled among the conifers, aspen, and cottonwood lies one of Yellowstone’s most breath-taking features: The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. Made out of rhyolite rock, this carved canyon features some of the most dramatic and widest collection of colors and shapes in the entire park. This piece aims to capture some of that awe and wonder, with the beginning and end acting as the grand canyon walls, and the middle section as the torrential Yellowstone river in an overarching ABCBA structure.
